  The Little Gentleman

  for the last two weeks my youngest boy joshua has been wearing a dress shirt, pants, and a sportscoat.

  i've tried putting other clothes on him, like a t-shirt and shorts, but he always changes out of them for the dress shirt and pants.

  it is so cute and he knows it.

  Yes I understand that but explaining to people that have never been JWs is an other story. I don't think they understand that it's easy for people to be scamed in this way. No one wants to think that they are gulible.

  Onthewayout. I really want to read Steven Hassan's book. Not that easy to come by here in SA. Will have to order it. Thanks for the great info. I'm going home now but will check this post in the morning so please keep the coming!

  Thanks deadpoet. I was starting to think that I was the only one o the forum.

  My parents started their study after immigrating to SA. They had no friends here and no support system. I can fully understand why becoming a JW with instant friends was apealing at the time. After almost 30 years in the WBTS they are fully intergrated JWs.

  humans are naturally curious creatures.

  we learn from experience better than words.

  so with the internet in almost every witness home, and the society constantly harping on people to avoid it, how many do you think have at least checked it out?

  I think it's human nature to want to know more about something you are involved in. I would guess that most JW with private internet access will at some stage take a peek. I feel that the younger generation will most likely be less afraid of the WBTS warning about the net.

No one wakes up in the morning saying "Today I'm going to join a cult!" I sometimes feel so stupid for believing their @#$%*!! for so many years.

  i joined this forum on 1may2007 with a promise that i would tell more about myself as time went on.

  well, here goes.. i was born and raised in the black belt of alabama in wilcox county.

  it is supposedly called the black belt due to the color of the soil, but i have a strong suspicion it is also due to the fact that there is such a heavy concentration of black people in the dozen or more counties that make up the black belt.. my parents were sharecroppers which was simply a form of whitewashed slavery.

  UPDATE ON DANSK

  it's been a long time since i posted here but i often read your messages when ian (dansk) logs on.

  as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).

  last time he was in hospital many of you sent messages to his ward and i know they cheered him up immensely.
